Accountant

• Responsible for all facets of AP and Cash Management.
• Provides assistance to the Financial Manager as required from time to time.
• Is a key member of the Finance team, with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience.
• Willingness and openness to learn in a team environment

Key responsibilities
• Purchase Orders
o Ensure purchase order system adhered to.
o Training of staff where necessary, and assistance to business partners in fulfilling their procurement responsibilities
o Review uninvoiced receipts and open purchase orders and clear / clean up where necessary
• All facets of AP – includes:
oPreparing of AP invoices for processing
oAccurately coding from COA
o Strict review and processing of staff expense claims
o Ensure correct sign off of all invoices.
o Weekly and monthly payment runs.
o Utilise on-line electronic banking, and electronic payment runs
o Spending reviews as required from time to time
o Prepayment set up and monthly allocation to clear.
o Month end Accruals where invoices not processed
o Petty cash reimbursement and recon
• Cash Management
o Responsible for ensuring processing of all AP and AR payments and receipts.
o Monthly bank reconciliation of all accounts
o Print out and filing of all bank statements
o Process miscellaneous receipts and payments
o Key statements into Oracle and reconcile
o Maintenance of any AP’s or direct debits.
o Preparation of all month end manual journals affecting cash accounts.
• Additionally
o Monthly Treasury update – SwissCo cashflow
o Maintenance of Stannic and Diner’s/AMEX accounts
o Mobile invoicing and accrual
o Controlling all ICO transactions and ensuring all ICO balances in balance at month end
o Assisting with month end close including SRA calculations, sub-ledger tie outs and reconciliation reports and balance sheet reconciliations
o Serving as a back-up for Financial Manager in all functions including GPS/forecasting updates
o Assistance in year end statutory audit preparation
o Tax returns compilation of Tax Collection requirements
o Implement global policy and have a up-to-date knowledge of issued policy
o Assist Financial Manager as requested
o Adhoc reports as required
o Evaluate systems, procedures and practices, and aid implementation and or modifications
o Maintain fixed asset register & depreciation
o Mobile spend reporting (Vodacom statements)
o Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Technical skills and experience
o Sound experience in all facets of AP and cash management
o High proficiency in Excel as well as normal MSOffice applications (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
o Oracle experience preferred or similar large ERP system
o Accounting or similar degree required, ideally a newly qualified CA or person working towards the qualification
o Knowledge of SA Accounting Standards, IRFS and US GAAP will be an additional benefit.
o Independent worker, yet able to function well in a small team environment
