TITLE:Application Engineer / Master Data Management (MDM)
REPORTS TO:MDM Delivery Manager
DIVISION:Information Technology
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Master Data Management Application Engineer designs, develops and supports EA world-wide applications.
This role has a good understanding of master data processes & tools, data modeling & data integration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong business and/or technical background in the areas of Master Data Management, Meta data management, Data Quality, Data Governance and Data Security
•Expert and hands-on knowledge of one or more MDM products such as Teradata MDM, SAP MDM, Oracle MDM, IBM MDM etc.
•Knowledge and experience in building enterprise wide Master Data solutions for a large fortune 500 enterprise
•Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases; knowledge of Teradata SQL preferred
•Experience in web application development
•Experience with Java Programming and Object Oriented Design, JSP JavaScript, JDBC, HTML, XML, SOA, Web services and RDBMS
•Knowledge of ETL data conversion processes within Teradata / Oracle / Informatica Environments.
•Change Management and impact analysis
•Release management
•Source Code Configuration Management
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Ability to balance multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team
•Monitoring and managing production systems, workload and performance by applying resource management policies, experience with Teradata MDM preferred
•Willingness and ability to travel; and potential extended stays with core team

Minimum Experience / Education Requirements
•Six to eight years experience and proven capabilities in application development
•Two to four years of hands-on functional and technical experience on one or more leading products in master data management space; Teradata Master Data Management solution preferred
•Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develops and maintains EA world-wide applications, including a multi-subject area enterprise MDM solution set based on the Teradata MDM platform
•Develops and maintains data structures in support of the MDM solution set
•Develops and maintains ETL / integration solutions in support of the MDM solution set
•Performs new functionality and regression testing as necessary
•Shapes solution designs and frameworks required for global MDM
•Manages execution of development deliverables
•Manages production support activities
•Partners with various IT teams to syndicate master data from the Teradata MDM solution across the application landscape with consistency, integrity and reliability
•Oversees resources, work products and deliverables from internal and external parties on/off shore
•Provides guidance to project team to ensure adherence to EA standards and processes.
•Establishes and enhances technical guidelines and best practices for the MDM solution in accordance with EA standards
•Ability to apply technology patches, as recommended by Vendors
