Art Director - Concept Art for Current Gen Cross-Platform Projects, Shanghai
This company can look back on an impressive track record of working with some of the leading publishers and developers on co-development projects, as well as full life-cycle development of their own in-house titles.
Their teams are international, English is the studio's main language and their senior management team hails from all corners of the world.
They are currently seeking an experienced Concept Art Director to lead the visual direction on forthcoming projects.
The primary function of the role is to direct and manage the overall look and visual quality of the game. Working closely with the Creative Director, Game Designers and Producers, you will be responsible for defining the game's visual look and leading the team to deliver a consistently stunning artistic vision. The Art Director is expected to create art style guides to define and communicate the look of the game to the team. You will then drive this vision and push for high quality through production working with the Art Leads and Technical Artists.
Great communication skills are essential as you are expected to present to your team, company executives as well as work closely with other departments on promotional related materials.
Required Skills:
- Be highly organised, have good communication skills and great team-player attitude
- Demonstrate Production Design skills to direct the team to create plausible, believable environments, characters
- Have excellent visual language skills to set and create a distinctive look with the use of lighting, tone, atmosphere
- Have an understanding of art, lighting, shading
Qualifications
• Extensive experience within the games industry in art and art direction.
• Must have art direction and/or art lead experience on at least two published titles (preferably console) and participated in the full development cycle of these titles.
• Position is recognised as having a very high level of artistic achievement, traditional art skills and creativity are a must.
Salary for this position is negotiable dependent on experience and company benefits include relocation assistance, pension plan, housing allowance, generous annual holiday.
