Finance plays a pivotal role in monitoring the company’s financial performance and ensuring all systems are in place to track current activity and forecast forward. There are a number of Finance roles within EA, including Accountants, Business Analysts, Financial Analysts, Finance Managers, Finance Directors, Financial Controllers, Credit Managers, and Chief Financial Officer.

Role Overview

A Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing the business needs of their clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions. Business Analysts are responsible for the integrity, maintenance, and production of management reports for the game team they work on. They assist in the development of models and metrics that support business development proposals and in the development of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Business Analysts also assist in analyzing actuals, reviewing risks and opportunities, and analyzing and reviewing financial results vs. budget and forecast. They maintain, produce, and distribute all management reports, including updating and evaluating all the files that feed the reports and analyzing project forecast and trends for reasonability. They support and assist managers in decision making and strategic business planning by assisting in any financial impact statements, completing what-if analysis, benchmarking, performing option analysis, etc. Business Analysts also participate and complete ad-hoc projects and analysis as requested, partner with development teams for their input on budgets and forecasts, and coordinate and consolidate the Business Unit's annual budget.

What skills does EA look for??

EA Business Analysts typically have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management. They must have proficiency in analysis, benchmarking, and all MS Office products (including extensive knowledge of Excel), plus solid finance and business understanding. Business Analysts must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with communication occurring primarily with internal partners and consisting of daily discussions on a range of complex and straightforward topics (e.g., assisting with financial analysis, budgets, decisions, and forecasts). Business Analysts must use collaboration, effective listening, and persuasion, and be able to clearly communicate straightforward and complex information when in meetings, as well as when resolving problems, working on projects, and presenting financial information and reports. Presentation skills may be required when providing recommendations or results.

As EA SPORTS ONLINE SEASON TICKET and ARENA/VIRGIN GAMING Business Analyst, you will support the Online business initiatives within EA Sports to understand the customer behavior and needs through data analytics. The profile will be an important part of business dialogue with the Sports Label with the purpose of matching the tactical and strategic agenda with analytics within areas such as segmentation, customer scoring, cross-and-up-selling, loyalty, programs, forecasting, web analytics, and campaign execution.
