Specifically we source independent game developers capable of creating the next blockbuster 1st party franchises for our Windows, Mobile and XBLA platforms leveraging Xbox LIVE. You will join a team of diverse, dedicated and fun business development experts to significantly contribute to the future of Microsoft Studios portfolio and success.


We are looking for Business Development Manager (BDM) with very strong: negotiation background, business and strategic acumen, communication and relationship management skills.

The BDM primary responsibilities will be to

1. Source independent game developers for the Windows Phone, Windows 8 and XBLA platforms in support of Connected Experiences;

Identify concepts that fit our portfolio strategy, enhance our platform and adapted to our various business models;

- Perform initial due diligence with developers;

- Manage developer relations and drive the greenlight and negotiation process;

- Find creative deal structure and identify potential long-term partners;

- Team-up with the production team, business management and legal around contracts, product delivery schedule, business model, budgets and any other aspects that may impact deals;

2. Influence and Support Strategic Initiatives driven by the business team

- Become industry expert for mobile, tablet, pc and services relating to games and Xbox Live

- Act as a strategy consultant to the business units supported

- Understand the development eco-system and its evolution from gathering developer and industry feedback

- Support M&A initiatives

3. Influence, support and follow Microsoft Studios business development, production, and legal processes;

- Manage/Support greenlight process, Business Development updates

- Maintain CRM, Dealpoint and contract archiving processes

- Deal structure and deal terms maintenance

- Business Development process improvements

- Business Development Presentations

4. Travel attend conferences when required


Preferred Experience:

- 8-10 years of business development experience in the game or mobile industry, in a fast growing business.

- The ideal candidate is a team player, extremely result driven, can manage a high number of partners and deals, is familiar with a variety and complex deal structure and is passionate and knowledgeable about games.

- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Process oriented.

- Global experience and technology background a plus.
