Character Rigger required on AAA PC Games!
My client has continually developed high quality games for over 20 years, winning numerous awards and selling millions of copies.
Position Overview:
They are looking for a highly skilled character rigger who will design, create and maintain character rig/setups for their highly successful franchise games. The candidate will work closely with both character and animation teams to provide solutions to enable them to deliver the high quality results that are expected.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, Build and maintain character setups/rigs
* Rig and weight characters so they have great deformation
* Work with the modellers to ensure assets meets the technical requirements
* Create intuitive animation controls for the animation team
* Identify work flow and pipeline improvements
* Deliver work in the required time
Essential:
* Have an excellent understanding of animation principles and kinematics
* Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a team player
* Excellent knowledge of a 3d package (Motionbuilder, Maya, Max, XSI)
* An understanding of motion capture
* Advanced character,facial and creature rigging knowledge
* Production experience in creating character setups
* Excellent understanding of facial, human and animal anatomy
* Exceptional troubleshooting skills
* A strong passion and enthusiasm for animation and video games
Advantageous Skills:
* Motionbuilder experience
* Motion capture experience (Vicon experience a major plus)
* Traditional Art/Animation background with formal Art training
* Scripting Experience (Python, Mel, C++)
