JOB DESCRIPTION
The EA Sports Online team is a central group that develops client-server technology (Online Software Development Kit), which is then integrated by all Sports titles to enable online features such as OTP, Clubs, Matchmaking, Locker, EASW, and many more. Working out of the EA Canada (EAC Burnaby) and Tiburon (Orlando, FL) studios, EA Sports Online partners closely with the GOS (Global Online Studios) team, which is located across several EA locations around the world. EA Sports Online provides reliable and scalable core online technology for EA to create great online experiences which drives customer loyalty, ever-increasing usage, and cross-platform capabilities. It is all about developing online features, providing an interface to the lower level online technologies, and providing a leading edge EA proprietary SDK for game teams to easily add, customize, and enhance online in their game.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficient in C/C++
• Experience with client-server software architecture
• At least one co-op term of experience
• Prefer an 8 month co-op term
• Passionate about new cutting edge technology (mobile, gadgets, etc…)
• Has experience in dealing with internal-facing customers.
• Experience in some of: Networking, SQL/Database, UNIX, and/or Linux
• Experience in object-oriented design and implementation
• Experience with Perforce or other source code management tools would be an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices
• Strong math background
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology, platforms, and game areas
• Self-starters who can work with others in team-oriented environment as well as independently
• Passion for online video games is an asset
