POSITION OVERVIEW


The EA SPORTS Web team is responsible for surfacing EA SPORTS franchise content on the web, and for creating unique and engaging online experiences for our customers. The group is tasked with driving online innovation for the Sports Label. We are a fun and dynamic team who has a deep passion for technology, content, and gaming. Online content can take many forms, including plain text, links, database content, still images (illustrations, photographs, diagrams), animation, audio, video, and interactive applications. The main responsibility of the Content Manager will be the creation or acquisition of these sorts of content, while maintaining a close relationship with other specialists, such as producers, graphic designers, developers and QA staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the web and gaming, have a high degree of personal integrity, loads of energy, and the desire to work with a fun, close-knit, supportive team.


JOB DESCRIPTION


The Content Manager will be responsible for:

• publishing content to EASPORTS.com by working with a team of producers, developers, QA, and operations staff
• assessing and resolving any technical challenges in displaying site content, while ensuring all posted material meets high quality editorial standards
• ensuring that site content is both accurate, and updated in a timely fashion, as per the requests of the production team
• performing iterative site tests with the team’s software engineers to assess and correct new site launches and features
• sourcing, editing and proofreading site content, and working closely with the development team to maintain high quality site standards
• participating in content deployment planning and releases
• actively participating in daily / weekly project planning meetings, and comfortable working in a results-oriented team dynamic
• creating and maintaining content plans for new site features



QUALIFICATIONS


• This position requires an in-progress bachelor's degree in an online, online marketing or new media-related discipline.
• Strong understanding of web technologies and associated file formats such as HTML and XML
• Excellent writing skills and expertise in New Media required
• Experience with popular content management systems
• Familiarity with basic SEO best practices and keyword research
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
• Basic understanding of graphic design tools needed to crop images and modify graphics
• The ability to pick up and learn new tools quickly
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong time management skills and the ability to take initiative
• Willing to do some tedious repetitive tasks and put in extra hours if necessary
