Sony Computer Entertainment is looking for a DBA/Sys Admin to join its Operations team for PLAYSTATION(R)Home. The job will involve maintenance, development and support with HPG operational systems. We are looking for an experienced DBA with good all round development experience, particularly Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle. This position offers a great opportunity within a high profile SCE project.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and optimize SQL database performance and capacity planning

- Troubleshoot database issues, maintain database systems availability and scalability

- Develop and optimize database design for new applications

Experience/Skills

The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic self-starter able to think with a great degree of analysis with present and future systems in mind.

Essential

- Min 3 years of experience as a DBA or equivalent.

- Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle knowledge

- Demonstrated experience with SQL database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

- Good team player with strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills

- Able to work under pressure and multi-tasking capabilities

- Pro-active, dedicated, committed and responsible

Desirable

- Knowledge and experience in IIS/.NET

- Experience in development of back or front end user interface design and implementation.

- Experience in batch scripting, FTP systems, TCP/IP Protocols

- Good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with differing groups both inside and outside of the company.

- Python, Perl or PHP knowledge
