Developer Operations Engineer Required- Central London Location

My client is looking for a developer operations engineer to join their successful game development team.

Job Description:
Responsibilities include the setup and management of server environments, productionisation of developed server applications and services, and management of releases in development all the way through to production.

Support responsibilities include 3rd line support of the production environment, and internal support.

Responsibilities:
Setup & Management of Server Environments
Work closely with an internal hosting team to set-up and manage server environments. This will include defining hardware and software requirements, and ensuring the delivered environments meet expectations.
Manage working relationships with central operations teams to ensure that all server environments are performing as required.
Management of Server releases
Maintain existing server builds and develop improvements to the build process to enable server releases to be quickly and efficiently built from source code. Release builds must be compatible with existing proprietary server management / deployment tools.
Work closely with game team online producers and internal hosting teams to schedule and coordinate the deployment of server releases to various environments. Verification of successful deployments will be required.
3rd Line Support of Production Service
Work closely with an internal hosting team and operational engineers to resolve issues with production services. When required, the planning and coordination of bug fix testing and deployment will also be required.

Requirements:
The candidate must have knowledge and experience in web-tier development in the technologies outlined below. The candidate must be proficient to work alone or as part of the team. The candidate will be pro-active worker. Good communication skills essential.

Essential Skills and Experience
• Excellent UNIX skills (Core Utilities, Package Management, Build Tools, Configuration, Monitoring)
• Java (inc. JVM and associated tools) / J2EE (Including JSP, Spring or Jersey)
• SQL
• Scripting (BaSH, Perl, Python, Ruby, Groovy, JavaScript, awk etc)
• Build tools (Maven, Ant, Hudson etc.)
• Working on large-scale network server applications
• Development lifecycle (requirements to production)
• Supporting production and resolving issues
• Web servers (esp. Tomcat, Apache httpd) Relational databases (Oracle) and non-relational databases
• Deployment tools and data centre automation
• Monitoring and management (esp. JMX)
• Version Control: SVN
