The Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) within Microsoft Studios/Xbox is looking for a development lead to realize our vision to be the #1 choice for sports entertainment.


We are expanding our partner portfolio. We need a candidate that can look broadly across the product offerings to ensure that we are delivering great end-to-end solutions. We need a candidate who can also go deep technically across a plethora of scenarios, platforms, and devices to ensure that we are balancing our product architecture between short term and long term needs.


Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic technology professional with a strong foundation in cloud services and engineering development experience with multiple forms of interactive entertainment. In this role, you will lead our studio’s development strategy and execution, lead an agile team of engineers and work with the technical director, executive producers and other leader to develop and release world class entertainment experiences. Specific Responsibilities include:


Build and manage a top caliber development team and oversee the development & project management of concurrent development projects

Collaborate with leadership team to continuously manage trade-offs between scope, resources and time during the development lifecycle

Develop strategy to build an effective, service based platform supporting content across a number of platforms

Create, maintain and drive engineering schedules and continually evaluate process and methodology to look for ways to improve efficiency without compromising quality

Own technical relationships with external partners, as appropriate (e.g., ESPN)


Qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience leading development teams and shipping high quality software and services (Xbox 360 experience is a strong plus)

- Proven software design, programming, and optimization skills C++, C#, and scripting languages

- Technical vision and the ability to turn that vision into reality

- Ability to balance multiple projects

- Tolerance and ability to deal with ambiguity

- Proven cross group collaboration excellence both internal and external

- Strong prior coding abilities and individual technical accomplishments

- Hands on and will step into whatever role is required to ensure the job gets done

- Passion for sports

- Previous start-up experience is a plus
