Experience & Qualifications:

Leading Social/Casual/Mobile developer in the SF Bay Area is looking for an experienced Director of Development to lead the production of its games through effective resource planning and timely execution. The position requires deep understanding of the intricacies of game design, specifically how engineering, art and design interrelate. They are looking for someone who can apply the right amount of discipline and formality to the development process while at the same time ensuring rapid progress on long and short-term projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the CCO and CEO to drive the execution of the games.

- Direct teams of engineers, artists and game designers in building high-quality online social and multiplayer games in parallel.

- Lead teams through design, development, and deployment of each game through constant iterations of gameplay mechanics and/or features.

- Set appropriate project schedules (sprints) and manage ongoing feature or gameplay changes and requirements.

- Manages evolving project schedules and requirements.

- Create and build a game deployment strategy, including proper QA and feedback loop.

- Participate in the creation of project plans, resource allocation and estimated timelines across multiple game development projects.

- Create and document technical design requirements.

- Help drive technical and architecture strategy.

- 6+ years software development staff management experience.

- 8+ years development experience.

- B.A./B.S./M.S. in Computer Science preferred.

- Strong knowledge of technology including Flash (C++ and Unity a plus).

- Ability to understand all components of game development, from engineering to art to game design.

- Ability to manage and identify tradeoff between adding, postponing, and/or deleting features or gameplay mechanics.

- Demonstrate ability to lead, manage an d improve game development processes.

- Game industry experience a must.
