Environment Artist-Intern

- Works closely with the Environment Artists, Level Designers and Technical Directors to build assets with AAA visual quality that follow the technical guidelines for real-time graphics & fits the game design metric.
- Creates assets using Maya, Zbrush & Photoshop & exports it to unreal engine in a packaged format.
- Must be adaptive and willing to learn new processes and technical skills to work effectively.
- Self motivation and a passion for the games industry essential.
- Will be involved in all aspects of the teams’ development process, including stand-ups, meetings, critiques and reviews.
- Demonstrate commitment to creative collaboration in a time-sensitive environment.
The JEDI Academy Internship Program is a technical program that Lucasfilm runs for 12-16 weeks, across the academic summer break, at the Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco, California. We're looking for Junior Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students with technical, art and production training to work in a variety of positions in Lucasarts, ILM, Lucasfilm Animation, and Lucasfilm. All positions are paid internships.

The Environment Artist Intern is responsible for supporting the Environment Artists in building environment assets in Maya, ZBrush & Mudbox. Experience in setting up levels & packaging assets in Unreal Editor is preferred. Must be a good team player with an understanding of level design in games and a strong interest in FPS genre.
Requirements:
- Completing your Junior year as an undergraduate in Art, Design, Architecture, Game Development or a related course.
- A portfolio demonstrating outstanding work in level-art. Preferably strong in one or more aspects of environment art like Modeling, Lighting or Texturing.
- An ability to work independently and be self-directing.
- High level of initiative, flexibility and confidentiality.
- Good understanding of real time graphics workflow preferably using Unreal Editor 3.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A passion for gaming.
