EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – EA SPORTS ONLINE

The Executive Director for EA SPORTS Online sets the vision and business direction for the team in an “agency-type” service model designed to deliver online engagement, services, and products that allow EA SPORTS and its business units to reach and exceed their strategic goals. This critical leadership role pulls together creative direction, design, features, functionality, and experiences into a high-quality, cohesive, online offering with a solid business case for the company and a strong value proposition for the consumer.
The Executive Director role for EA SPORTS Online will be key to transforming easports.com and the related online products and services into an online experience and service that drives customer interaction and engagement 365 days per year to increase customer acquisition, retention, and monetization online. The right candidate will lead with courage and integrity, be a strong leader, and be a change agent to ensure an effective organization and team culture that supports high performance, innovation and quality service.

Responsibilities:
• Direct and drive the EA SPORTS Online team as an internal “agency” capable of delivering products, services, and experiences (including easports.com) utilizing a diverse team across multiple locations.
• Collaborate seamlessly with Marketing and Communications leaders and personnel, and ensure constant alignment and a healthy, productive partnership.
• Collaborate with SBU leaders and their respective franchise teams on EA SPORTS Online products and experiences that support and/or enhance SBU products and services.
• Deliver outstanding, world-class customer service and communication to internal partners that result in engaging experiences for external consumers.
• Own product delivery of label-wide online initiatives (on time and on quality) that support the EA SPORTS online mission (e.g., EA SPORTS Season Ticket) and the strategic plans of the individual SBUs transforming their products into year-round services.
• Set a multi-year vision and develop related business cases for the EA SPORTS Online products and experiences that support the goals of the Label and the SBUs.
• Represent EA SPORTS, or ensure representation by key staff on the team, at EA’s Online Readiness Group (ORG) to ensure alignment and support of EA SPORTS Online initiatives and technology.
• Inspire and lead the EA SPORTS Online team.
• Make decisions related to budgeting and resources that drive EA SPORTS Online forward.
• Communicate direction and results across the EA SPORTS Label and to external partners / press, as appropriate.
• Partner with other leaders within EA SPORTS Development Operations (Dev Ops), especially Core Technology, to deliver above expectations.
• Partner with Business Development to identify functional requirements to support new business opportunities and negotiate appropriate contracts.
• Partner with HR to establish best-in-class programs for attraction and retention of employees into the EA SPORTS Online team.


Qualifications:
• Proven leader with 10+ years in large-scale, online experiences (background in transforming or establishing a business with software as a service is a major plus)
• Background and/or understanding of digital marketing and/or live services
• Balanced technical, creative, and strategic perspectives
• Experience and knowledge of working with and establishing digital analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Video game, entertainment, and/or sports industry experience are preferred, but not required
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative approach with the ability to lead through influence
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment with the ability to lead a diverse team of multiple disciplines
