Games Experienced Writer
My client is a creator of some of the best story driven games ever made and one of the leading independent game studios in the world. They are now looking for an Experienced Writer to join the team and create new games.
The successful candidate will work alongside the gameplay designers to implement the material you have created. You will know that storytelling should be more than an excuse to get the characters to the next action piece; but also realise that the sole purpose of a game is not to be a platform for the story – it’s an interactive experience. My client takes their storytelling and characters extremely seriously and wants to push the boundaries of what stories in games can do. You will be integral in this process.
The writing team is looking for somebody to actively contribute, not just to write things to spec. They love their work and want you to feel the same way. Previous games writing experience is essential, but more than anything else, they need somebody who’s not only a good writer, but can also tune into the same creative wavelength and be a part of a passionate team.
Skills/Experience required:
•Excellent writer with an ear for characterization and dialogue
•Excellent verbal and written English (of their work is done in English)
•Teamwork-oriented
•Insight into what interactive storytelling is and isn’t
•A deep and wide understanding of popular culture
•Familiarity with the standard film screenplay format
•You have been published before (i.e., this will not be your first real writing gig)
•Passion for games
•Previous work as a writer on video games
•Film or TV work would prove an advantage
