QA Tester
Job Description
A brilliant chance for a talented and experienced QA professional, with knowledge of online/social platforms, to move into and develop within the fast paced world of social gaming.
The primary responsibilities for the QA Engineer are:
To logically perform structured and exploratory testing on multiple titles
To quickly and methodically detect and log issues and track there progress.
To work closely with dedicated game and engineering teams in the pursuit of high level quality assurance
Document and build product knowledge bases
Map and analyse application flow for risks and provide contingencies
Drive and innovate quality into all areas of the business
Create and implement dedicated test suites and associated test cases
Formulate efficient strategies for testing specific game features
Work alongside remote teams to provide a worldwide QA asset
Track and measure performance of QA on dedicated titles
To communicate clearly and concisely on all QA processes and progress
Script automated solutions to boost productivity and increase product coverage
Provide feedback and support to the community and development teams
Previous experience
A strong background in Quality Assurance spanning several projects
Experience in iterative software development methodologies
Requirements
Experience in test script, test case, test suite and test plan creation
Experience with Agile (Scrum) or waterfall methodologies.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent written and verbal negotiation and communication skills
A pro-active and driven attitude towards QA
To be resourceful and utilise their own initiative
To demonstrate the ability to self manage, organised with a strong work ethic
To apply previous QA knowledge and training to the role
Mastery of Microsoft Office or similar
An strong interest in social gaming
Good knowledge of the SDLC
Able to travel to other Playfish offices if required
An impeccable eye for detail
Preferences
Experience in the social gaming sector
Background in Online or New Media Quality Assurance
Knowledge and experience of issue tracking/project management tools
Previous experience with online social communities
Demonstrative knowledge of Facebook platform policies
Basic of networking/web development
ISEB or ISTQB qualified
