Finance plays a pivotal role in monitoring the company’s financial performance and ensuring all systems are in place to track current activity and forecast forward. There are a number of Finance roles within EA, including Accountants, Business Analysts, Financial Analysts, Finance Managers, Finance Directors, Financial Controllers, Credit Managers, and Chief Financial Officer.

Role Overview

A key member of the Financial Controlling team, the GL Accountant will assist the GL Manager in maintaining the Swiss Co GL ensuring that transactions are recorded in a timely & accurate manner in accordance with US GAAP, monthly reporting, and all relevant support for audits and tax compliance.

The function includes significant liaison with the EA Geneva, EA Corporate departments, and other GL Managers throughout Europe, allowing widespread exposure to both territory and European-wide finance issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage monthly close process for EA Swiss sarl (including, but not limited to, Fixed Assets, subledger close, SG&A; accruals, PO review, B/S reconciliations, HFM reconciliations and related supplementary data forms)
• Recording of GL entries to EA Swiss sarl
• Reconciliation of all key balance sheet accounts in Swiss Co and on a monthly basis and follow up on any reconciling items on a timely basis
• Ensure that ICO is agreed with all Worldwide entities by transaction on a monthly basis
• Preparation of post-close reporting package to European Consolidation Manager to ensure that all movements are explained
• Ensure continual compliance with current and new Sarbanes Oxley legislation
• Provide all required support in preparation of statutory tax returns, transfer pricing, cost share recharges, VAT and assistance with all tax audits for Swiss Co
• Preparation and analysis of the SG&A; costs by department against forecast and ensuring that the business understands the variances for Swiss Co
• Preparation of audit schedules and requirements for External auditors for the GL’s, as well as acting as primary lead with the local audit team
• Involvement with AP and AR departments in ensuring appropriate reconciliations and sub-ledger close accuracy

Qualifications

• Fluent in English essential, French or other languages a plus
• Professional finance qualification
• ERP experience – specifically Oracle and HFM an advantage
• Experience of working with cross-functional and multi-national teams
• Experience of Sarbanes Oxley preferred
• Knowledge US GAAP and Swiss GAAP preferred
• Proactive and confident in identifying problems and solutions; tenacity and attention to detail valuable attributes
• Ability to manage change positively – comfortable with multiple daily responsibilities and with managing change where required
• Team player, and capable of representing regional GL finance team across EA and externally
