GUI Artist/ Graphic Designer Required For Developer In Scotland
Formed in 2006, my client has a highly successful track record in game development. Their world class developers have played a key role in the production of some of the best selling, and most critically acclaimed, games in the world.
You will be based in a thriving modern Scottish city, which is home to an innovative and a dynamic digital media industry as well as a vibrant arts and cultural scene.
They are now looking for a GUI Artist/Designer who is a highly skilled and experienced individual comfortable in a variety of software packages including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, 3D Studio MAX and Microsoft Excel. The role will involve the production of work on a number of gaming platforms including iPhone, Android and other mobile devices.
The successful candidate will be required to work on more than one project at any one time and work closely with other team members to ensure high standards of GUI visual and design are maintained over all projects within minimal scheduled times. They must ensure the GUI matches all other areas of the game visuals while working closely with the programmers to ensure a smooth implementation to their designs. They must also show an ability to manage a wide variety of visual styles and stick to the visual guidelines of established properties.
Successful candidates should show the following abilities:
- Strong graphic design and illustration abilities
- An ability to make the information accessible to the user at all times.
- To have a clear understanding of the target product and to design within the clients established style.
- Advanced 2D illustration experience within Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
- Proficient in the use of wireframes, storyboards and other tools to create simple, rapid prototypes to test, make improvements and implement Interfaces.
- Act as the main practitioner & champion for all UX work and perform all activities in conducting UX research and optimization.
- Operate in an Agile development environment and will be expected to identify & deliver UX improvements to the product.
- Report to the product owner and conduct user research, testing and optimization of interfaces of products for new and existing devices.
Comfortable using off the shelf software packages and in-house tools.
