My client is dedicated to creating exceptionally high-quality video games for the PC and next-generation consoles powered by cutting edge games technology.

Their goal is to provide gamers with an intuitive user interface, innovative exciting gameplay, and revolutionary atmospheric visuals.

Based in a fantastic location in Germany, our client offers open planned offices and the opportunity to work with some of the best technology available.

Role description:
o Designs and develops browser based games.
o Generates game scripts and storyboards as necessary.
o Ensures applications and systems are fully compliant with requirements through appropriate unit and system/ integration testing.
o Ensures functional and technical design meets product and business requirements.
o Ensures appropriate, accurate, up-to-date technical documentation is available for systems and logic.
o Assists and supports testers with development and execution of test plans.
o Helps drive the delivery of successful, cutting edge products by working on a team with other highly talented Producers, Developers, and Designers.
o Performs other duties as required.

Responsibilities:
o Owns the development of one or more browser games, from specification through design, coding, debugging, and deployment.
o Works closely with the operations team to install, configure and operate developed features, as appropriate.
o Works with the Production, Design and Development teams to build a feature set.
o Works closely with QA engineers to ensure quality throughout the development cycle.
o Shares expertise and advise others in the development of features across the service.
o Writes high quality, high performance code.
o Writes complete Unit Tests for developed code.
o Participates in the scoping and sizing of requirements using Agile development methods

Requirements:
o Excellent knowledge of HTML5 and Javascript.
o At least one game online (includes restricted test environments).
o Strong skills in creating optimized in size and render time HTML/CSS code markup based on prepared visual design.
o Experience of optimizing multimedia content for the web.
o Strong knowledge of W3C Standards.
o Proficiency with web-based architectures and technologies (REST, XML, JSON).
o Strong OO design and programming skills applying proven methodologies using UML.
o Used Agile Methodology as a software development process following continuous integration programming, particularly SCRUM.
o Experience with standard revision control (SVN) and defect tracking tools (JIRA).
o Motivated self-starter who likes working on very productive, fast-paced teams.
o Ability to skillfully navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
o Ability to remain calm, poised, professional, and productive when under pressure.
o Passionate desire to build great products.
o Maintains objectivity and seeks win-win resolutions when faced with tough problems.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
o Passion for video games.
o Education: B.S in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
o Solid industry experience

Preferences:
o Java (especially backend development, NIO)
o Development on mobile devices (especially iPhone/iPad, Android)
o OpenGL ES and/or WebGL
o Flash ActionScript3
o PHP5
o Scripting languages (like Ruby)
