Character Modeller

Our client is currently expanding their art department and is looking for talented Mid-level (2) and Senior (1) Character Modellers who will work with the Lead Animator to produce high quality characters for the project.

Responsibilities

•Working directly with Lead Animator to oversee the character production pipeline

•Offering guidance and mentoring for junior to mid level character artists

•Work with scanned data to produce realistic characters for next gen development

•Scheduling the team to ensure characters are delivered for milestones

•Provide regular feedback for the team from the Game

Director•Maintains vision and quality of the team

Required Experience

•Proficient with edge loops and latest polygon construction methods

•High levels of technical competency in Maya, Photoshop and Zbrush

•Understands the technical limitations of character modelling within a development environment

•Experience of character pipelines and efficient memory management of UVs, textures, and vertices

•Experience of working with in house tools and console development process

•Understanding of character preparation from modelling, rigging and skinning for animation

•Experience with sub skeletons and set driven keys for quality deformation of characters

•Can produce high quality realistic character models within strict budgets and limitations

Required Qualification

•Accomplished senior character modeller with experience of mentoring a team through at least one AAA title

•Excellent problem solver who can focus on detail, while maintaining the whole picture

•Ability to work with a range of disciplines including Art, Programming, Design and Production
