Lead Programmer – TG

The Lead Programmer – TG reports to the director of the Technology Group.
The incumbent will coordinate, distribute and supervise the work of the programming teams (20-45 people), ensure the teams’ satisfactory performance and resolve and manage any situations that hinder the attainment of the programming objectives.
Responsibilities :
The main and routine tasks of the Lead Programmer – TG are to:
-Estimate, with team members, the amount of work to be done for planning purposes;
-Prioritize tasks;
-Distribute tasks and monitor the team’s work with regards to programming deliverables;
-Challenge team members to ensure that all technical decisions are sound and fact-based;
-Define and implement the TG team work methods (including team structure) that best meet project requirements;
-Communicate the project’s technological vision, clear objectives, strategies and general information to all TG team members in order to provide insight into the advancement of the work;
-Carry out performance follow ups and assessments;
-Take part in selecting team members and interviewing external applicants;
-Coordinate, with product managers, the tasks that involve several teams;
-Manage any conflicts within the group;
-Supervise and plan the correction period for the bugs found by testers;
-Create a work environment that motivates team members and which fosters development and creation;
-Support collaborations and knowledge sharing within the group and with other project teams;
-Ensure that the director of the Technology Group is aware of all important information;
-Support career development and suggest interpersonal and technical skills development and training workshops to team members;
-Carry out all other related tasks.
Education :
-Bachelor’s in computer science or computer engineering and a certificate in project management or any other equivalent training.
Relevant Experience :
-At least five (5) years’ experience as a programmer including two (2) as a team lead; experience supervising a programming team a significant asset; any other related experience.
