Level Designer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Level Designer with console action/shooter expertise at the Visceral Redwood Shores Studio. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new IP.

Responsibilities
• Conceptualize, script, direct, and build levels for the game.
• Own a large piece of the level design for the game, be able to work collaboratively with the Level Design Lead, Creative Director, and Executive Producer to create an extremely fun, satisfying and polished level design flow.
• Drive level design by taking the initiative to bring all parties together to execute on the overall vision for the levels.
• Be a collaborative member of the design team, and contribute to reviews, feedback, and playtest sessions.

Requirements
• Previous experience using Lua (or equivalent scripting language) to create game mechanics.
• Experience with 3D level design tools (UnrealEd, Maya, Max, Hammer, Radiant or similar 3D editor).
• Thorough knowledge of the game development process.
• Must be an avid action/shooter gamer, of course.
• Previous experience as a Level Designer on shipped console titles.

Experience & Qualities Sought
• Ability to conceptualize exciting level designs that will be satisfying to the player.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools.
• Some artistic background, formal or otherwise, 2D or 3D, is a big plus.
• Deep knowledge of the action/shooter game genre.
• Multiplayer/Online experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a mature fashion with a high-performance team.
• Ability to create believable real world action game level designs.
