My client is one of the most innovative and technically progressive games developers. They focus on original IP projects and high-profile licenses. They can offer you the chance to get involved in the production of an highly anticipated predicted chart-topper, as well as an excellent working environment.
As a Level Scripter (/designer), you’ll work closely with other designers, programmers and artists to create level walkthroughs, maps and flowcharts. You will be responsible to architect and block out core level geometry, iterating from sketch, grayboxing through to final. Other core responsibilities include investigating new features, brainstorming ideas and documenting content plans to script incredible game events. The successful candidate will be able to master any toolset in a minimum amount of time. With excellent problem solving skills, you will rarely be frustrated by the unexpected and relish each chance to overcome the seemingly insurmountable.
Required Qualifications
• Solid industry experience as a Level Scripter or Level Designer
• Ability to transfer vision to gameplay logic.
• One or more game titles shipped as a Level Scripter or Level Designer
• Experience from working within editors e.g. Source, Unreal, Sandbox or similar
• Scripting experience (CryEngine Flow Graph, UnrealEd Kismet etc).
• You’re articulate, have strong conceptual skills and the ability to communicate your ideas visually and verbally
• You enjoy working as part of a team and are able to meaningfully critique a level (as well as accept criticism)
• Python and/or LUA (or similar) scripting experience is of an advantage
