Operations Live Maintenance Engineer
Role Overview
The role is a part of the DICE Operations team and is a unique opportunity for a junior programmer to get broad hands on experience with both Battlefield and Frostbite. The applicant is motivated by maintaining and improving Battlefield 3 and future titles.
Emphasis will be on game client, game server and the supporting online infrastructure.
Primary responsibilities
• Continuously implement planned improvements and deployments
• Handle unplanned urgent maintenance requests
• Proactively work with identifying and troubleshooting problems that negatively effects the player experience, e.g. network issues
• Cooperate with the Battlelog team
• Cooperate with the IT and Operations department within EA
• Liase with stakeholders within EA
Requirements profile
• B Sc/M Sc in Engineering or Computer Science
• 1 – 2 years of relevant professional C++ programming experience
• Client/server architectures
• Low level network knowledge
• Service mindedness – this is about running a service not building a product
• Self-starter used to work individually and to take initiatives
• Experience from developing and deploying software services
• Strong language skills – excellent spoken and written English is a must, preferably Swedish as well
• Strong communication skills for working closely with other Software Engineers and game designers
• Experience with: Windows and Unix operating systems, SQL-databases, Revision control, Visual Studio
• Of course a strong interest in games
