We are currently seeking a Multiplayer Designer to join the exciting new PopCap team in Burnaby.

Responsibilities
• Conceptualize and build multiplayer levels for the game.
• Own a large piece of the map design for the game, creating extremely fun & polished multiplayer maps.
• Work collaboratively with the design, art and production teams to create an extremely fun, satisfying and polished level design flow.
• Drive level design and the multiplayer experience by taking the initiative to bring all parties together to execute on the overall vision for the levels.
• Be a collaborative member of the design team, and contribute to reviews, feedback, and playtest sessions.

Requirements
• Previous experience using Lua (or equivalent scripting language) to create game mechanics.
• Experience with 3D level design tools (UnrealEd, Maya, Max, Hammer, Radiant or similar 3D editor).
• Thorough knowledge of the game development process.
• Previous experience as a Multiplayer Level Designer on a shipped shooter or action title.

Experience & Qualities Sought
• Ability to conceptualize exciting level designs that will be satisfying to the player.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools.
• Experience designing levels where the player has a lot of freedom to manipulate the gameplay space (destruction, construction, modification).
• Some artistic background, formal or otherwise, 2D or 3D, is a big plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a mature fashion with a high-performance team.
