Overview:
The Retail Marketing Manager will be a driving force in developing and executing core brand strategies with our retail partners. The ideal candidate will be a clear, confident communicator with deep marketing experience across retail channels. The candidate will drive the development of strategies and programs to market our titles to consumers at the account specific channel. This position is the conduit between Accounts, Sales and product management teams. The role also requires financial acumen to develop and manage the allocated trade spending budget by title by quarter and managing return on investment of trade spend. Familiarity with building and executing marketing programs in Latin American is highly desirable as the role will cover both US and Latin American channels. Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are strongly desired.
Position Duties (including, but, not limited to):
Strategic planning and execution of retail promotional and marketing events
• Provide input during development of title specific go to market strategies and planning frameworks
• Align product and brand management teams with account objectives to create account specific marketing plans for pre-sell, Launch and momentum phases for all ATVI titles
• Manage account specific merchandise plans for all title responsibilities
• Ensure information in system is current and updated (Addesso, and trade marketing planning tools)
• Assist sales teams in developing sales presentations and tools for all promotional events
Trade Budget Management and Forecasting
• Manage profit- sensitive trade marketing budgets and lead quarterly trade forecast reporting for all ATVI titles
• Promotional effectiveness: evaluation of all account specific trade promotions and programs
• Work with trade finance, sales, and associate retail marketing managers to analyze financial and account impact of promos or programs and provide recommendations for future planning
• Align Sales teams with budget spends to ensure budgets are on track to deliver corporate revenue and operating income goals
• Manage account specific trade budget: weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly
Sales material preparation for account presentations and industry events
• Partner with product and brand marketing to develop customer-ready materials for sales meetings and product evangelism
• Oversee associate retail marketing managers in providing sales support materials on time
• Work with internal and external teams to develop account specific playbook for all key title releases
Communication with Internal and External Stakeholders
• Provide day to day customer input to product, brand, and PR teams on product mix, pricing, exclusives and packaging
• Participate in weekly cross-functional title planning meetings with brand, PR, development, and consumer marketing to gain agreement on retail objectives and plans during all phases of the product life cycle
• Ensure necessary internal approvals on artwork and other account marketing assets
• Work with sales team to "plan" key brand objectives and maximize merchandising impact at retail
Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Sales, Business; MBA or equivalent work experience preferred
• Exceptional presentation skills across varying audience from internal teams, to Senior Leaders within Activision and at Retail Customers
• 3+ years of Product Management or Sales experience at leading consumer packaged goods or entertainment software company strongly desired
• Interest in video games and interactive entertainment industry preferred
• The ideal individual should be extremely organized and detail oriented with solid Project Management abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to analyze varieties of data and identifying marketing trends
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills strongly desired
• Ability to travel 15% of time within US and Latin America
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the ability to perform essential job functions which may typically include sitting; walking; standing; bending; use of hands to type, handle or feel, reach with arms or hands, stoop, kneel, talk, see, hear and carry light items such as papers, notebooks, pens, etc. May also require occasional travel by car or plane.
