Sales Department Overview & Goals
EA's North American field sales organization manages 50% of EA's worldwide revenues. Field representatives sell EA's products directly to our retail customers. Our goal is to reach our sell-in objectives quarterly by managing our accounts’ inventory levels and retail marketing programs. In addition, we are responsible for managing product lifecycle through markdowns and offsetting orders.
Sales Analyst Responsibilities Overview
With guidance and training, the Retail Sales Analyst will become proficient with retail tools such as Wal-Mart’s Retail Link Decision Support and CPFR, along with EA-provided analytical tools including Excel and all Microsoft Office suites. This position will learn to work with retailer buying and replenishment teams and EA sales teams, to help create, maintain, and maximize life cycle sell-through. In this capacity, the sales analyst will learn to work closely with EA’s demand planning, retail account services, and operations team to ensure forecasting is accurately communicated and updated so as to achieve 100% fill rates.
Utilizing a six month training period, this position will become proficient in the following functions:
Script Writing
1. Generate weekly scripts by item to augment Wal-Mart’s replenishment system to maximize sales and inventory efficiency
2. Complete all new release launch scripts using retail link data, marketing and promotional/advertising information, and historical store performance detail
3. Participate in EA sales team product presentations and line reviews to buying and replenishment teams by preparing and presenting back up documentation to justify launch quantities.
CPFR/Replenishment
1. Achieve targeted CPFR forecast accuracy managing to exception criteria including in-stock rates, lost sales, and traited store counts
2. Communicate weekly CPFR policy recommendations to Wal-Mart buying and replenishment teams
3. Develop store distribution traits and item-level finelines to gain maximum product launch and sell through efficiency
Sales Reporting
1. Prepare and distribute EA sell-through reports and analysis by sku by platform for daily, weekly, and life-to-date horizons
2. Provide graphical analysis of historical sell through
3. Track order receipt and accuracy against quantities, ship timing, and fill rates
Item Set-Up and Maintenance
1. Complete all item set-ups for Wal-Mart and Sam’s, as well as, internal special items set up forms for EA’s operations group
2. Generate and distribute all item updates (e.g. ship dates, pricing changes, etc.) on new release spreadsheet to Wal-Mart and Sam’s buying and replenishment teams, and EA sales team
Other
1. Work across analytical tools including Retail Link, CPFR, Dynamic Policy Files, Inforem, Excel, and Access Database software, and other Microsoft Office tools, and be able to tie these tools together to maximize sell-through
2. Possess high levels of Wal-Mart and Sam’s systems knowledge
3. Develop high levels of industry knowledge in all interactive software categories
4. Attend Retail Link user group meetings to learn new additions and enhancements and how to better incorporate into EA’s daily business management
5. Possess an attitude of 'whatever it takes' in order to be a successful member of EA’s 'Team Wal-Mart'
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft's Office suite of products
• Demonstrated understanding and interest of gaming industry
• Ability to work within dynamic environment by prioritizing tasks
• Strong oral and written communication and follow-up skills
• Analytical mindset
• Ability to prioritize in a super fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills
