Position Description: The Sales manager position is responsible for the tactical management and development of all Activision Blizzard's products sales in the Club, Military, and Regional Specialty retailers. Also, the sales manager will be responsible for the Toys R Us operational function. Achievement of volume and profit quotas, within assigned spending budgets is a core accountability of the position, which will be achieved through customer business planning, exceptional execution of sales controllable "building blocks", and leading the development of the overall relationship with the customers at multiple levels in the division.

Essential Functions

1. Strategy Development - Work closely with Sales Director in the development of a sales strategy around: event launches on new releases, pricing, merchandising, and forecasting for assigned customers.  ~10%

2. Business Planning / Analysis - Utilization of principles of collaborative forecasting, trade promotion effectiveness, customer POS systems, and competitive analysis to develop quarterly & annual promotional plans, and new item launches which meet or exceed Activision Blizzard's volume, profit and product development objectives.  ~30%

3. Sales Execution - Interaction and in depth knowledge at all levels and in all functional areas of the assigned customers ensuring implementation of strategic and tactical initiatives, achievement of sales controllables of distribution, pricing, merchandising, and forecasting, meeting or exceeding assigned volume objectives, and staying within assigned spending budgets.  Maintain a leadership role on all transaction issues (deductions, EDI, scorecard objectives etc.) as well as on logistical execution (order maintenance, fill rate, on time delivery, etc.)  ~40%
 
4. Communication - Ongoing communication of strategy, business plans, sales controllables & results, best practices, and opportunities across the organization with particular focus on emerging markets.  ~10%
 
5.  Customer Knowledge / Self Development - Development of expert knowledge and insight of customer business processes, leadership, organizational structure, measurement systems, distribution network, incentive plan, pos systems, and value system.  Ongoing self improvement in all necessary skill areas. ~10%

Machinery/tools/office equipment which must be used in order to perform the essential functions of the job:
Laptop adeptness with strong skills in Word, Excel, and Power Point.  Knowledge of Partners On Line and Info Retriever preferred.

Special physical requirements for performing the essential functions of the job (e.g. must lift 50 lb onto waist high shelves): Must be able to travel approx 25% - Must travel by air and car. 

Preferred Experience:      Minimum 5 years sales experience, at least 2 years on club, regionals or Toys R Us businesses.
Minimum Acceptable:      Minimum 2 years sales experience in CPG, Entertainment, or Software Industry
 
Preferred Education:         Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Minimum Acceptable:       Undergraduate 4 year degree from a major university

Scope Data:
The Sales Manager for Team Specialty will be responsible for approx $50MM in annual volume
The incumbent will interact with customers at all levels from Business Planners to Sr. Buyers/Company Owners - strong interpersonal and influence skills are necessary
Multifunction interaction with logistics, information services, operations, marketing, finance at customer & Activision Blizzard's sales management interaction in planning meetings with customers at levels up to VP / SVP
