Senior AI Programmer - Games Developer - Europe
My client are based in one of Europe's most amazing and vibrant cities. Apart from offering an excellent opportunity to work with the big boys and girls in games they offer a benefits and bonus scheme second to none!
They are currently recruiting for a Senior AI programming star to design and implement new features for AI systems.
AI programmers also assist the design department in creating game play by creating and modifying NPC behaviour. The AI programmers operate at the edge of the code and level department. The successful candidate will spend a lot of time assisting level designers, and tweaking existing behaviours. Additionally, they will do code design and programming to extend and modify the AI framework.
Tasks include:
• Create example encounters to prototype game play situations
• Assist level designers in scripting encounters.
• Configure behaviours for NPC classes so level designers can use these in the game.
• Extend the current AI code base to provide new behaviours in the current framework.
• Extend and modify the AI framework.
Additional Requirements:
• Service oriented attitude. Able to cooperate productively with other disciplines such as level design and art
• Proven interest in AI programming
• Strong interest in creating exciting game play
• Ability to use any existing or new techniques to create exciting NPC game play
• Keeps track of the current state of the art through articles and conference proceedings
We look for certain core skills in a programmer. No matter where you fit into the company we want to meet people who:
• Are passionate about programming
• Are comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team
• Are comfortable working with a large code base
• Can work in a structured way, in C++, to generate easy to understand code while still keeping track of memory / performance aspects
You must be able to prove how good you really are. When making an application we require that you supply us with:
• C++ code examples showing structured programming
• Preferably a demo showing off work relevant for the job
