Senior Animation Programmer
at Mako Games

Mako Games is currently seeking a Senior Animation Programmer to develop cutting-edge motion control games for Natal. The position is full time, on-site at our Stamford, Connecticut office.
A Sr Engine Programmer is a highly capable individual with experience in many of the technical aspects of game development. A Senior Engineer mentors other programmers, lends expertise in company-wide technical direction, and seeks to improve engineering processes across the company.
Responsibilities:
• Dive deeply into the Natal motion-sensing technology to provide technical guidance for innovative game play. This position is essential to the "fun factor" in the game and is largely responsible for the overall game play.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize mid/high-level engine systems
• Apply expert knowledge to projects, and assist in shaping larger technical direction.
• Mentor other programmers in the group.
• Ready to move quickly between projects as expert assistance is needed.
• Play a leading role in the design and architecture of software.
• Pioneer use of new technologies.
• Seek ways to improve the tools and systems used by content creators.
Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of animation systems, direct experience coding advanced animation systems
• Multiple years of experience working on animation technology in games
• At least 1 shipped game title on next-gen consoles, 3 titles overall
• At least 8 years professional programming experience
• Strong C/C++ skills
• Strong debug ging and profiling skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Passion for gaming and what makes them tick
Plusses:
• 3D Graphics programming experience a plus
• Experience with Natural Motion’s Morpheme engine is a major plus
• Experience with Emergent's Gamebryo engine is a major plus
