Senior Audio Programmer - Games Developer - North UK
My client is one of the UK's most prolific and secure independent Games developers. Founded in 2003 they have had a string of successful titles across all gaming platforms working on major franchise titles for some of the most recognised Publishers in the games industry.

They are working on a number of exciting AAA titles and need to expand their team once more to make their games the best they can be.

They are now looking for a Senior Audio Programmer whose primary responsibility is to design and implement the audio components of our games technology. Must also exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of understanding towards game technology production and an adaptability to meet the needs of multiple projects utilizing common technology.

Essential Job Functions:
. Development of technical design specification, implementation and test plans
. Testing, debugging and revision of new or legacy engine systems
. Profiling, performance-analysis, performance tuning
. Researching state of the art techniques and contributing innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development
. Working with Technology Programmers, Development Directors, QA Testers and game project production staff
. Support other programmers on team
. Providing mentorship to Technology Programmers
. Meet production schedules and deadlines

Knowledge Requirements:
. Proficiency in C/C++
. Extensive experience working in the game industry required
. Solid experience in console programming
. Excellent debugging and communication skills
. Worked on at least 2 shipped games
. Hands-on experience using proprietary and/or custom game audio tools on a shipped title
(e.g. SCREAM, Xact, Wwise, FMOD etc).
. Knowledge of how audio fits in game architectures and pipelines, including relevant hardware, software and compression issues.
. Experience with video game audio content creation or traditional sound experience (music,
sfx, studio, musician, etc)
. Experience with DirectSound, Xbox360 or PS3

Preferred Knowledge
. Experience composing, arranging and recording music of various styles

. Create complex systems from start to finish
. Quickly master proprietary tools and development processes
