Senior Audio Programmer

Mako Games is currently seeking a Senior Audio Programmer to develop cutting-edge motion control games for Natal. The position is full time, on-site at our Stamford, Connecticut office.
A Sr Audio Programmer is a highly capable individual with experience in many of the technical aspects of game development. A Senior Engineer mentors other programmers, lends expertise in company-wide technical direction, and seeks to improve engineering processes across the company.
Responsibilities:
• Dive deeply into the Natal motion-sensing technology to provide technical guidance for innovative game play. This position is essential to the "fun factor" in the game and is responsible for key components of the game play.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize mid/high-level engine systems
• Apply expert knowledge to projects, and assist in shaping larger technical direction.
• Mentor other programmers in the group.
• Ready to move quickly between projects as expert assistance is needed.
• Play a leading role in the design and architecture of software.
• Pioneer use of new technologies.
• Seek ways to improve the tools and systems used by content creators.
Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of audio programming and experience coding audio engines
• Multiple years of experience working with audio in games
• At least 1 shipped game title on next-gen consoles, 3 titles overall
• At least 6 years professional programming experience
• Strong C/C++ skills
• Strong debugging and profiling skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Passion for gaming and what makes them tick
Plusses:
• Experience with Emergent's Gamebryo engine is a major plus
