Senior Communications Coordinator - EA Sports

The EA SPORTS Integrated Communications group is an industry-leading team that positions EA SPORTS as a leading global sports entertainment brand. We are the trusted voice of EA SPORTS responsible for articulating our story, managing engaging conversations, building relationships and trust. We do this via media relations, direct-to-consumer communications and community management, and serve as a strategic partner to our studio development and marketing teams. The department's primary objectives are to manage the conversation with our fans about our product by generating media interest and positive community sentiment for our portfolio of products.

We are presently seeking a Sr. Communications Coordinator to support direct to consumer communications and public relations initiatives, and manage community relations for the EA SPORTS NHL franchise. Candidate must have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, creative environment with a strong background in communications – experience using social networking tools, in depth knowledge of the EA SPORTS NHL franchise, and a passion for hockey a must. This team player and strong communicator will work directly with internal partners and community worldwide, and media in North America.

Responsibilities:
• Content development and execution for direct to consumer elements of communications campaigns.
• Support Communications team with North American media relations as directed.
• Contribute strategically to overall global EA SPORTS NHL communications plan across owned, earned and shared channels.
• Manage consistent community conversation and execute customer relations through forums, social media, blogs, fan site email lists and other available tools. Serve as the face of EA SPORTS NHL to the community.
• Ability to write and edit press releases, social media posts, blogs and fact sheets.
• Develop and pitch unique stories on trends, lifestyle elements, and features of EA SPORTS NHL products.
• Assist in managing the content, tone and uniformity of direct to consumer messaging and cascade to internal partners with external communications roles worldwide.
• Drive ongoing feedback loop from EA SPORTS NHL community to development and marketing teams. Filter and focus fan feedback for product improvement.
• Have knowledge and understanding, or willingness to learn the use of traditional communications tools such as monitoring services, media directories, newswires and databases.
• Seek out and participate in a variety of communities to unearth new community members. Nurture loyalists and keep them engaged.
• Plan and manage community events and programs to reward evangelists.
• Liaise with EA’s Customer Experience team and provide messaging guidance and tools to our front-line customer support staff.
• Create initiatives aimed at encouraging community growth and consumer participation.
• Provide consistent and in-depth reporting on the performance and issues across all communications channels.
• Assist in managing the EA SPORTS NHL communications calendar.

Qualifications/ Competencies:

• Minimum of 2 years of solid communications (PR and/or social media) experience. Need an entrepreneurial upstart attitude for exposure to a worldwide organization.
• Be a strong and valued individual contributor as well as an important and integral part of the Communications Team.
• In depth knowledge of the NHL and hockey culture
• Excellent communication skills (strong written, spoken and comprehension/listening) are required.
• Ability to manage, prioritize and execute multiple projects at one given time.
• Experience playing NHL videogames on consoles (X360/PS3) or mobile platforms (iPhone/Android)
• Proactive approach and thinking outside the box a must.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in the face of challenging customers and unexpected events.
• Great attention to detail and ability to follow tasks through to completion.
• Self motivated, flexible, adaptable and professional.
• Computer proficiency – experience with Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word and Excel.
