My client, a broad-based entertainment company, is a global leader in the creation, production, distribution, licensing and marketing of all forms of creative content and their related businesses, across all current and emerging media and platforms. The company stands at the forefront of every aspect of the entertainment industry from feature film, TV and home entertainment production and worldwide distribution to DVD, digital distribution, animation, comic books, licensing, international cinemas and broadcasting.

They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Customer Marketing Manager for a department that constantly strives to create and maintain a best in class marketing function with an emphasis on lifetime value of content. All leadership roles within the team are tasked with driving improved cross-divisional understanding, collaboration and expertise and in delivering an integrated approach to marketing content across windows.

Overview of the Function:
The Customer Marketing department is responsible for creating, developing and delivering a Trade marketing strategy for the group in the UK and Ireland with specific responsibility for optimising revenue delivery within specific retail accounts in conjunction with Sales and Marketing departments.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Develop and plan customer (trade) specific UK and Eire strategies that mirror retailer goals and objectives, utilising all aspects of the sales and marketing mix for New Release titles (DVD and Games). Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Creative Services to deliver bespoke presentations/creative to support above plans/implementation at retail.

• Work with the group and partner publishing marketing to gain clarity on positioning, key selling points, promotional/merchandising objectives, gaining insight into availability of materials and partners for each product launch

• Working with UK PM and UK PR Manager manage budget allocation across videogame title releases to ensure optimum trade and consumer marketing funding and campaigns

• In conjunction with the Senior Customer Marketing Manager (Supermarkets) drive, manage and motive the merchandising team to deliver. Play an integral role in, budget setting and adherence, weekly meetings, merchandising conferences, quarterly reviews to include SLA’s, rate cards and KPI’s. Form strong working relationships with both Retailer and merchandising team

• Work closely with Sales and Retail Planning to gain clear insight into post campaign ROI, delivering key learnings for future activity.

• Project manage timelines and budgets for all promotional activity, co-ordinating/communicating across wider business from Sales & Marketing meetings, team sells, Management Meetings

• Develop customer/partner relationship network that identifies key decision makers and makes my client the preferred partner for retailer initiatives

• Demonstrate an in–depth understanding of in-store environment and specific retailer trading strategies for key account responsibilities. Offer insights and suggestions that add value to the consumer proposition. Ensure that when opportunities arise my client is partner of choice.

• Identify incremental business opportunities that deliver group objectives within Specialists to achieve No.1 studio and preferred supplier status in the UK and Eire

• Co-ordinate and Champion Games Trade Shows, managing events agency, budget

• Be the expert on retailer out of category opportunities and rate cards. Monitor and report customer compliance, competitor initiatives and market / customer trends.

• Spend time in store to enhance understanding of logistics and operations, from back door to shop floor. Ensure smooth implementation of group activity, build key relationships and assess effectiveness of implementation and compliance.

• Play a high profile role in Specialists team sell meetings with focus on execution of plans in the retail environment

Relevant Work Experience
• High level of home entertainment product and industry knowledge (preferably Interactive Entertainment Company)
• Proven success within the Retail sector (client or supplier)
• Previously managed small team
• Solid experience in trade marketing/marketing in a similar role
