Senior Design Specialist, Call of Duty
Central Designer
To provide expert design assistance to all Call of Duty franchise production teams.
II. Position Responsibilities:
To provide expert design assistance to all production teams working on Call of Duty titles. To proactively drive excellence and consistency in design on all Call of Duty titles. To work effectively with stakeholders and teams to communicate, implement, and elevate the design vision in all Call of Duty products.
III. Position Duties: Daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
Senior Design Specialists may have subordinates as the central design department grows. Primarily, senior design specialists will work with senior team members (Producers and leads) and with the design staff. They will also work with internal EP's, P's, and with other members of central production and design.
V. Principal Working Relationships:
Primary:
Production/Development Producers, Designers, and other design/product stakeholders
Secondary:
Central Design, Central User-Testing, and other internal groups
VI. Position Qualifications:
a) Education/Experience :
· College Degree from highly regarded institution
Or
· Respectable body of professional work/experience.
b) Special Knowledge or Skills :
· Strong, successfully demonstrated design expertise that is applicable to Call of Duty
· Demonstrated ability to work at many levels, from high level concepts to detailed design balancing
· Strong understanding of the realities of production from an art, tech, and design standpoint
· Demonstrated ability to make compromises while maintaining design integrity
· Innovative, creative problem solving
· Analytical thinking and analysis
c) Other Qualifications and/or Requirements :
· Outstanding communication skills, good writing skills
· Desire to affect change on many projects while owning none
· An avid game player
· As this position requires working closely with developers, travel will be required
Central Designer

To work effectively with stakeholders and teams to communicate, implement, and elevate the design vision in all Call of Duty products.
III. Position Duties: Daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Effectively champion excellence to internal and external stakeholders
- Creatively solve design problems related to Call of Duty for a wide variety of teams, resources, platforms, and budgets
- Work directly with product teams to improve the design while balancing resource, schedule, and quality needs
- Effectively communicate design solutions through a variety of means, from informal one-on-ones to detailed design documents.
- Work effectively with other disciplines to implement design solutions
- Integrate easily into a variety of team structures and styles
- Provide expert design critique and analysis for all Call of Duty titles
- Effectively communicate design critiques to product teams
- Assist with consumer user-tests, working closely with production and the game developer to prioritize findings
- Coach, mentor, and train studio designers/producers through written documents, one-on-one meetings, or large group presentations
- Drive design thought leadership for Call of Duty
- Conduct design research and present findings as it relates to Call of Duty
- Write white papers regarding design
- Assist in recruiting additional design specialists as needed
- Educate and liaise with GBM, PR, and other internal groups regarding design implementations
- Assist in evaluating developers or new IP concepts for Call of Duty.
