Senior External Producer for Chinese Market

In this role as Senior External Producer the successful candidate will help oversee the various international development operations and partnerships of this market leading MMO in Asia.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience and aptitude for managing and building relationships for the development of successful international franchise, including sports MMO games being created for Asian markets. They will have experience interacting with both North American and Asian teams in the video game industry, have an eye for detail, a passion for quality and a proven ability establishing, managing and meeting development and operational objectives. The candidate will also serve as a primary contact with Sports marketing and the sports leagues in order to ensure cohesion and timely meeting of all deadlines and approval processes.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary contact between the studio and multiple developer/publisher partners with an emphasis on Asia
• Based in Shanghai, China, with travel to and from the US and within Asia
• Establish development priorities and deadlines with producers/project managers
• Continuously monitor and identify risks and maintain management strategies for internal and external development
• Manage the design, creation, testing, release, operation and monetization of and content for an ongoing online franchise
• Coordinate with marketing to ensure cohesive messaging and proper approvals
• Coordinate with the sports leagues including teams and player associations (domestically and internationally) to ensure proper licensing, asset approvals and partnerships
Requirements
• Extensive experience in the games industry as an External Producer, having shipping at least 3 commercial titles in an External Producer role, from concept through final
• Prior experience leading a significant development partnership or joint venture project between two or more separate parties; a proven understanding of the dynamics involved and diplomacy required to facilitate cooperation, coordination and agreement in these types of arrangements
• Understanding of the development and operation of online titles
• Strong focus on leadership; must be capable of attaining the highest quality results though managing programmers, artists and designers
• Ability to plan, implement, track and oversee development schedules of an internal team
• Ability to manage to and deliver on hard product deadlines with rapid development cycles while being the guardian over quality of the end result
• Ability to inspire and motivate those that work for them and those they work around
• Organized, creative and self‐confident
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Passion, knowledge and a strong interest in a wide range of video games, especially sports games
