Senior/Lead Character Artist for AAA Open World Action IP for Long Established Games Developer
My client is a long-established games-developer located in the south of Germany, right on the French border. The development team features a rich mix of nationalities with staff from all over the world working together, with English as the spoken language. In the past, the company has won a number of national awards and has been internationally successful with popular franchises achieving critical and commercial acclaim. Their latest release was an Action RPG game that was awarded best German Console Game in 2010.
They are now lookingfor an experienced Senior Character Artist.
Responsibilities:
- Modeling/mapping/texturing low poly meshes
- Sculping/retopologizing high resolution meshes
- Work with Art Director/ Lead Artist/Concept Artist to maintain art direction for the specific game and animators to provide characters who respects animation constraints
- Work within the technical and memory constraints of a game
An ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
- Expert in modeling/sculpting/UV mapping/texturing
- Expert in 3dsmax/photoshop and zbrush or mudbox
- Able to work in a variety of styles (realistic/fantasy/cartoony), have strong understanding of composition
- Able to reproduce a 2d concept in 3d respecting the original idea, style and proportions
- Strong understanding of anatomy pertaining to humans and animals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Plusses are:
o 2D character concept
o 3D environment assets creation skills
Previous Experience:
- A minimum of 2 shipped AAA-titles
