Senior Programmer

Relic Entertainment, award winning developers of Homeworld, Dawn of War and the highest rated RTS of all time, Company of Heroes, is looking for an experienced Senior Programmer to join our team.

Our ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills and is capable of working with a team of designers, programmers and artists in the design and implementation of cutting edge games.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyze requirements, design, write, test and deploy Java code
* Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code
* Participate in cross-disciplinary meetings and solve problems
* Assist in resolving complex technical issues
* Communicate complex information clearly and responsibly
* Draw from past experience and utilize independent judgment to determine course of action
* Anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions
* Carry out specific assigned tasks of project/projects
* Be the visionary of how products “should” function and have the technical/behavioral ability to lead peers toward this vision
REQUIREMENTS
* 5+ years of proven experience in a programming role
* Strong knowledge of Java
* Strong knowledge of C++ is an asset
* Computer Science degree or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of object oriented design
* Experience in the game industries is an asset
* Experience with database systems is an asset
* Comprehensive understanding and experience implementing current software applications
* Good interpersonal and communications skills
