Senior Publicist for EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer

Department Overview:
The Integrated Communications group is an industry-leading team that positions EA SPORTS as a leading global sports entertainment brand. It is a fast-paced, efficient team that is the trusted voice of EA SPORTS – by articulating our story, managing engaging conversations, building relationships and trust. We do this via media relations, direct-to-consumer communications and community management, and serve as a strategic partner to studio and marketing. The department's primary objectives are to generate media interest and positive community sentiment for the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise and its multitude of products. This position is specifically focused on accelerating the growth of the FIFA franchise in North America and maximizing exposure for the world’s #1 sports videogame across the U.S. and Canada.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Communications Manager for the FIFA franchise at EA SPORTS, the Senior Publicist will create and drive programs which generate positive editorial coverage for the FIFA franchise in North America, initiatives and policies through multiple communication vehicles including: media relations, events, social media, and speaking opportunities. The Senior Publicist role will work closely with marketing partners and studio leaders as well as external groups.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead PR activities for FIFA in North America, working on sports, enthusiast and consumer campaigns.
• Support EA SPORTS’ North American growth objectives as a strategic partner.
• Strategically shape the North American PR planning for the franchise and games.
• Draft PR written materials – PR plans, press releases, fact sheets, asset calendars, and more.
• Craft and execute PR programs that maximize reach and positive buzz.
• Own outreach and coverage with top enthusiast and consumer media outlets nationwide.
• Partner with Direct-To-Consumer and social media teams on integrated communications programs, including developing a unique social media presence for FIFA in North America.
• Manage projects and activities with PR agencies (English and Spanish).
• Plan/organize PR event activities at trade shows, press tours and events as needed
• Maintain key media relationships across North America.
• Source top tier speaking opportunities and manage executive speaking opportunities.

Technical skills and Qualifications:
• Must have strong experience and knowledge of gaming enthusiast media, coupled with consumer PR experience.
• Very strong writing skills and the ability to articulate concepts, messages and strategies.
• Extensive experience drafting messaging documents, PR plans, asset calendars, talking points and Q&As.;
• Excellent ability to stay cool under pressure, navigate calmly through change and roll with the punches.
• Demonstrates a passion for the industry, the sport of soccer, its players and trends.
• Ability to work collaboratively on a small team that interacts with many different internal clients.
• Thrives in team-oriented culture and knows how to have fun while working hard.
• Available for domestic and some international travel.
• Leads by example.
• Proficient with PowerPoint and all Microsoft Office applications.

Experience and Background:
• 3-5 years of experience working in communications or marketing related position at a global company, preferably in interactive entertainment or sports.
• Strong North American consumer and enthusiast media contacts a must.
• Passion for and knowledge of soccer is essential.
• Past experience in sports media or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a communications role working in consumer goods or entertainment organization.
