My client is working in an incredibly exciting space here and is partnered with one of the world’s largest and most influential tech companies to create a social game experience with an impact.
Their tech division is providing a number of hosted web-based services such as analytics, authentication, multiplayer hosting and cloud storage, that add significant value pre and post game release. They are looking for a developer with experience of server architectures and technologies such as Java, Python and SQL to help with the design construction and maintenance of these services to provide a secure, high quality and reliable platform.
You will be responsible for the delivery of back end development components for tech team online services and web applications.
And will ensure that the back-end implementations are robust, extensible and scalable.
You will also be monitoring, administering and reporting on online activity and statistics
Essentials
Thorough knowledge and experience developing maintainable, scalable, secure and robust web service applications using Java or Python with SQL databases
Strong experience with X/HTML, CSS and JavaScript/AJAX
Excellent knowledge of relational databases (awareness of NoSQL would be beneficial)
Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility and usability
Able to work with a variety of web APIs (particularly RESTful, JSON, XML-RPC) and able to use disparate technologies to deliver products rapidly
Beneficial Qualities
Experience of cloud-based server solutions, such as AWS, Google AppEngine, Rackspace
Working knowledge of PHP and LAMP stack
Experience of server hosting, management and configuration
The successful candidate should have excellent proven experience of building websites on both the front and back end
Professional attitude and work ethic
Thorough approach to problem solving and able to function independently when required
Needs to be comfortable working to deadlines
Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard
A willingness and ability to learn is essential
