My client is one of the UK's most prolific and secure independent Games developers. Founded in 2003 they have had a string of successful titles across all gaming platforms working on major franchise titles for some of the most recognised Publishers in the games industry.

They are working on a number of exciting AAA titles and need to expand their team once more to make their games the best they can be.

They are now looking for a talented Server Programmer to support their online games with in-depth knowledge of virtual hosting and cloud based infrastructure services. Amazon AWS knowledge ideal but not essential.

Essential Job Functions;
. Maintaining existing cloud servers
. Assisting game teams design features which create an outstanding online experience, across console games, mobile devices and the web. To steer their ideas and contribute to game design decisions when appropriate.
. To roll out new features to production for games at different stages of development, without affecting the stability of the existing games.
. To continuously improve our cloud infrastructure, testing, tools and processes.
. To participate in a 24/7 out of hours support role.

Experience / knowledge of the following required;
. C/C++
. Cloud Based technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Open Stack, Voxel or similar services
. Ruby or similar scripting language
. Maintaining large production Linux systems
. The use and design of web API’s
. NoSQL database technology
. HAProxy
. Varnish
. Nginx

Experience / knowledge of the following desirable;
. Amazon Web Services (EC2, EBS, S3, Elastic IP, CloudFront)
. Experience of system monitoring, logging, configuration management and deployment tools.
. Experience or knowledge of working on consoles games eg. Xbox, PS3
