ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Senior Director of Online Infrastructure Services is a key member of the Digital Platform leadership team. As a member of the leadership team, this leader contributes to setting strategy and objectives for EA’s digital platform. As leader of infrastructure services, this position is responsible for managing databases, storage, systems, network and hosting services to support EA's digital platform and online gaming environments. This position will drive definition and execution of infrastructure and hosting strategies that provide EA highly reliable, flexible and cost effective services. EA's environment is highly distributed and dynamic. This position will work closely with internal sponsors and external service providers. The position requires the ability to balance multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining an enterprise-wide view.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop a strategic infrastructure and hosting services plan that serves as multi-year roadmap for architecture and investment decisions.
- Ensure services are aligned with business objectives including EA’s AEM (acquisition, engagement, monetization) strategy and online game services.
- Drive high quality and flexible solutions and services at most efficient cost model.
-Integrate with roadmaps and architectures of other domains (includes online games and other web services)
- Drive the development and management of service roadmaps, project estimates, resource plans, departmental budgets and operational processes.
- Establish and improve operations and performance management across all service areas
- Ensure monitoring, measuring and reporting of service performance against Service Level Objectives, customer satisfaction and financial efficiencies with services
- Drive organizational excellence throughout the function
- Lead a global team of over 100 engineers including employees and contractors.
- Build a high performing team through staff development, recruiting and retention that can support EA's growing business needs
- Develop leadership and technical skills within the organization and via partnerships (outsourcing/offshoring)
- Ensure appropriate systems and service continuity plans are defined, in place and exercised regularly.
- Partner with Label teams, platform teams and strategic suppliers to deliver end to end solutions.
- Manage strategic partner/supplier relationships to ensure maximum leverage for EA includes technical solutioning, negotiations and contracts.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 12+ years experience in developing infrastructure and hosting strategies
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to work effectively at executive levels
- Proven ability to develop architecture and provide design oversight that incorporates high availability, operations supportability and scalability to a high volume, rapidly growing world class digital business
- Ability to work comfortably in highly varying levels of abstraction across business strategy, product strategy, high level technical design, detailed technical design and implementation
- Senior Director level experience in highly complex digital infrastructure environment with responsibility for similar job functions
- Experience in applying best practices to improve quality and cost of IT services
- Bachelors in technology/business required; Masters preferred
