Americas Publishing finance team supports EA’s North American business across all product lines and channels. Key business partners to the group include multiple Sales teams, Marketing and Operations organizations. While the group is tasked with managing the traditional FP&A; activities, the key objective is to maximize overall profitability of the business and provide decision making support to the business.
The mission of the North America Publishing (NAP) Finance team is to provide strategic finance support and support business execution by:
1) Leading compliant financial planning and close processes that provide an accurate, timely, and insightful forecast of the business with respect to future revenue, earnings, and cash flow.
2) Regularly researching, assessing, and communicating risks and opportunities (internal or external) to that forecast.
3) Providing value-added analysis to support key business decisions to overcome those risks or capitalize on those opportunities
Role Overview
The primary responsibility of this position will be forecasting, analysis and reporting related to operating expenses with emphasis on Business Partnership, Marketing Effectiveness and general ROI analyses.
Accounting Close – Perform monthly close activities including booking accrual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations etc
Forecasting and Planning – Assist the NAP Finance team in monthly forecasting and annual planning processes, with particular emphasis on marketing and other general departmental expenses.
Reporting - Ensure accurate and timely completion of reporting deliverables in advance of Quarterly Business Reviews, MBRs, estimate packages etc. Work directly with business partners to gather, understand and report key business metrics
Tracking Performance – Keep a regular pulse on the business as well as understand and communicate risks and opportunities
Analysis – Ongoing variance analysis of results vs. plan and forecasts and for internal management and central corporate teams. Other Adhoc analysis including ROI modeling, break-even analyses and tracking key performance indicators and metrics
Business Partnership – Act as cross-functional liaison between NAP Finance, Department Heads, corporate finance and accounting and be a strong influencer in improving processes and reporting.
Systems and Process - Provide support, as required, to Global Finance Transformation efforts
What skills does EA look for??
Experience:
• BS degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics required
• 3-5years experience in a divisional or corporate role (internal management reporting, forecasting, planning, analysis)
• Skilled user of financial database software applications
• Demonstrated top performance in prior roles
• Experience with E-commerce company a big plus
Skills & Capabilities:
• Excellent analytical and modeling skills
• Superior problem solving and analysis skills and ability to communicate with management team
• Extensive knowledge of Essbase, PowerPoint and expert knowledge of Excel
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy on work output
• Energetic and inquisitive quick learner
• Strong written and oral communication skills that enables clear and concise communication to all levels of management
