Technical Animator
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Animator with console expertise at the Visceral Redwood Shores Studio. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new IP.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Animation Lead and Technical Art Director developing, defining and maintaining high-end animation pipelines.
• Author animation pipelines, including: Animation data flow, conversion tools and productivity tools.
• Ability to solve animation related game design problems. Take a gameplay mechanic idea and work with designers and engineers to build the implementation framework for the mechanic.
• Seek out guidance from Animation Lead and technical artists to provide the best quality artwork and most efficient methodologies.
• Proactive in creating solutions and solving problems.
• Able to work with team members of other disciplines. Such as, communicating with gameplay programmers for implementing character mechanics.
• Create documentation on pipeline processes and tools.

Requirements
• Associates degree in Fine Art, Computer Graphics or Animation. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years technical animation experience shipping at least 2 commercial titles with emphasis on technical animation.
• Expertise with industry standard animation packages (e.g. Maya, Motion Builder)
• Experience with motion capture data handling.
• Solid understanding of animation pipeline creation and maintenance
• Scripting of animation tools to improve animation workflow, maxScripting knowledge preferred.
