Technical Artist Required
If you're considering roles in the North of England, why not apply for the role of a lifetime! You will be working on ground-breaking content in a beautiful location with a true work hard play hard atmosphere.
My client has built their reputation by its liaison with publishing giants and consistent AAA titles. They have a great working atmosphere, close knit teams and strike a happy balance between hard work and equally hard play.
They are now looking for an experienced Technical Artist to be responsible for developing, documenting and supporting the game art pipelines and techniques used by the art and animation teams. The Technical Artist will report directly to the Technical Art Director.
Requirements
• As the role of Technical Artist is a specialised one, candidates must be able to show technical proficiency in areas such as modelling, texturing, and scripted languages such as Max Script and Python.
• Working directly with Art, Tools and Rendering Leads, the role requires an ability to understand and communicate technical issues from an aesthetic point of view.
• Solid experience with industry standard 3-D package (3D Studio Max) and an extensive knowledge of art packages (Photoshop). The skill set should range from modelling to texturing and special effects, and be able to customise them so they are as streamlined as possible for specific projects.
• The ability to work well as part of a team is also important, while training and mentoring responsibilities require good communication and people management skills.
• Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions and other established protocols.
• Experience and understanding of multiple art/animation asset pipelines on Xbox 360 and/or PS3.
• Ability to write and optimise shaders.
• Able to write supporting tools in C#.
