Technical Director - New IP
Unique opportunity to join a fabulous studio with a history or producing award winning and hugely popular games.
This time it is to work on their new IP - If past projects are to give an indication of the quality of this you seriously need to get involved with this new title.
Responsibilities:
Define the technological strategy with the development team for the pipeline, tools, and key development procedures.
Evaluate new technologies and middleware for quality and development improvements
Help extend, maintain and optimize the existing engine
Help porting to current and future platforms
Build and track project wide schedules, goals and high level strategies
Produce and maintain technical risk and mitigation plans
Manage risk together with team leads
Identify internal and external dependencies and plan all needed support
Support teams with day to day coordination, code quality and help solve issues that hinder production
Provide honest and motivating feedback to team members
Liaise with other external studios on a technical level
Liaise directly with publisher
Consistently mentor and coach team members
Promote effective, sustainable team dynamics
Is actively involved in the recruitment and onboarding process
Communicate well at all levels, from executive management to interns
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in the games industry, of which at least 3 must be in an engineering role
At least one cross platform AAA title shipped from beginning to end
Solid understanding of C++ in a game development environment
Solid understanding of the complete tool pipeline and asset creation
Experience with current-gen consoles and PC
Proactive, autonomous and self motivated
Experience working with agile processes
Strong people and team building skills
Excellent communication and listening skills
Fluent English
Passion for games
Willing to relocate to Frankfurt / Germany
Pluses:
Shipped one AAA title from beginning to end as a Technical Director or Technical Project Manager
Program management experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science
