Technical Lead

Summary:
 
The incumbent will support the informatics project leader in managing the informatics team. The incumbent may hold the position for a console (e.g.: PS3 technical lead) or specialization (e.g.: AI technical lead) and may be called upon to coordinate and distribute tasks, follow up on a small team, and identify the problems that could hinder the attainment of informatics objectives. Part of the incumbent’s tie will be devoted to programming.
 
Mission:
 
The main and routine tasks of the Technical Lead are to:
 
Manage the mandates given by the IPL and act as a reference for the informatics team in his/her area of expertise;
 
-Assign tasks to the team and follow up on the progress of the work;
-Provide regular updates to the IPL on the progress of the work;
-Advise the IPL and suggest corrective measures whenever necessary so as to meet objectives;
-Work with teams from other crafts (design, graphics, animation, sound) to ensure that the team meets its objectives;
-Identify possible conflictual situations and suggest solutions to the IPL when problem-solving;
-Be a mentor (technical level) to less experienced team members;
-Participate in performance follow ups in collaboration with the IPL;
-Coordinate the work to correct the bugs generated by the team;
-Act as a senior programmer and participate in programming more complex elements in his/her area of expertise;
-Carry out all other related tasks.
 
Training:
 
Bachelor’s in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent.
 
Relevant Experience:
 
Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience in programming for a specific console or in a specific area of expertise or equivalent.
