Microsoft Studios is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to help us deliver innovative and ground-breaking experiences that push the boundaries of what is possible.

We’re a small and growing team of experienced incubators and game developers working with truly inspiring entertainment technology. We brainstorm exciting and ground-breaking experiences and quickly build working prototypes on top of developing tech. We transform our ideas into reality through shipping a first-to-market product.


This position will be responsible for owning multiple deep technical pieces of the project, while running a feature team focused on those technical areas. The producer will also be responsible for pioneering development processes, establishing schedules and budgets, leading feature teams in completing work, and ensuring development and production work align to the overall vision and strategy for the project. Daily tasks will include analyzing progress against the development plan, making adjustments as needed with the feature teams, making prioritization decisions for production and development, reviewing builds and giving feedback, and working with other functional leads and peers to resolve all process and technical hurdles for creating a world-class experience


The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to drive teams and individuals towards common goals, is an effective liaison between multiple disciplines and teams, will possess a broad understanding of hardware and software, can ramp up quickly on new and development and technology. Knowledge of game production and development is a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver creative, fun, and innovative experiences

Champion a piece of technology and drive it to completion

Build strong working relationships with all members of the team and external teams

Manage development and production plans to deliver world-class quality on schedule.

Create tools, standards, processes, schedules, communication methods, and anything else that helps a team stay on vision and on schedule.

Establish and maintain the project’s vision, scope, schedule, budget, and resource plan.

Communicate risks and opportunities to upper management on a regular basis.

Create and improve internal processes for signing and shipping games.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

5+ years working as a Producer or Program Manager

Strong experience working with all disciplines (Art, Design, Dev, PM, Test)

A history of high quality products and experiences

Problem solving and management of creative teams

Strong technical skills

Knowledge of all aspects and stages of game development
