UI Artist Required For Cambridge Developer
This is an exciting opportunity to join a hugely successful, fast paced and rapidly expanding online games company and help it achieve its ambitious goals for 2012 and beyond.
They are now looking for an exceptional individual to play a key role in the design and development of intuitive user interfaces for their new browser-based massively multiplayer strategy game.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Art Lead and Design team to deliver highly appealing and accessible user interfaces.
Key Duties Include:
•Creating and refining the game interfaces to a AAA quality standard
•Working with designers and the Art Lead to develop interface layouts and assets that serve accessible game play and aesthetic requirements
•Ensuring all UI assets are delivered to a consistently high quality, in line with and complementary to the existing art style
•Championing usability and accessibility of the game at every level
•Supporting the development and implementation of the UI through written and visual guidance
•Working autonomously and being proactive in finding strong solutions to UI problems
•Overseeing the correct functionality and optimisation of UI assets throughout the game
•Providing time costs for UI projects
•Maintaining excellent communication with relevant team members
Essential Requirements:
•Deep understanding of UI principles and theory
•Excellent knowledge of layout and typography
•Excellent 2D art working, digital illustration and drawing skills
•Keen eye for detail
•Proficiency in all relevant graphics software packages, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
•Foundational knowledge of web development, HTML and CSS
•UI artist prior experience
•JavaScript experience
