THIS IS A 6 MONTH CONTRACT
ELECTRONIC ARTS / User Interface and User Experience Designer
Location: Emeryville, CA or Redwood Shores, CA

UI/UX DESIGNER
PREREQUISITES:
- Experienced UE/UX designer.
- Strong design background including interface design
- Comprehensive understanding of Photoshop and conversion to HTML/CSS code.
- Ability to work within a style including a style set by another artist/art director/ Brand Identity
- Understanding of the impact of localization
- Understanding of ABN testing
REQUIREMENTS:
- Work with producers and engineers to design complex user
interfaces and data interactions.
- Meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment, and occasionally, extremely aggressive deadlines
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Demonstrates a high level of creativity in approaching work while remaining within constraints of corporate and brand identities.
UNDERSTANDING:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of:
*Experience with styling controls
*Vector and Raster Image Creation tools and appropriate use of both
*Continuity as it relates to the design of interfaces/menu systems
-Demonstrates a strong understanding of:
*Icon design
* Color
* Interactive navigational flow and controls
* Interface/menu systems assembly and vector based scripting techniques
* Key principles of human interface design/ergonomics; importance of consistency in design
- Expertise in both visual design and technical assembly of interface/menu systems
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the development and design for user interfaces
- Creates Interface assets as directed by Sr. Art staff with a high level of design consistency and continuity
- Adapts high-level design of interface to specific requirements of product's delivery platforms including web.
- With nominal supervision iterate concept artwork, create/develop following assets that are consistent with project and brand style guides, and work with UI engineers to implement.
- Develops high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, flow charts and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Documents design for implementation by artists and/or engineers.
PROFESSIONAL:
- Adds value to franchises or a studio by using craft to raise overall visual value and quality of game play and web experience
